Braininvasionisoneofthemajorthreecriteriathatformulatesthediagnosisofanatypicalmeningioma,evenwhenotherpathologicalfindingsarebenign.
Thecaseshowsasmallpartoftumorthatinvadesthebrainparenchyma(arrow,a),afindingfurtherbeingvalidatedbyaseparatepathologicalspecimenfromthisregionshowinginvasionoftheunderlyingbrainparenchyma(b)bythebenign-lookingmeningioma.

该病例中可见局部肿瘤组织侵犯脑实质（A图箭头），该部分肿瘤组织被病理学证实为具有良性特征的脑膜瘤侵犯潜在的脑组织（B图）。
肿瘤切片显示为良性、脑膜上皮和纤维性混合型脑膜瘤。
未发现组织结构丢失、有丝分裂增强以及坏死。
MIB-1标记指数为2.
脑组织侵犯和软脑膜破坏可能是引起瘤周水肿的原因（C图箭头）。
